The concept of writing content has always interested me. I find great satisfaction in putting my thoughts, ideas, information, and knowledge into written form and sharing them with others. Besides, I’ve always considered making it my career, even trying my hand at freelancing in this area.
Whatever I post on this blog is done so entirely because I enjoy writing and finding new ways to educate my readers. But how do freelancers write for clients in different industries, specializations, and niches? Recently, I had an excellent conversation with Abinaya (a success coach, content strategist, and freelance social media manager) to get some insights into these issues. By making high-quality content, she helps her students do better in life and gives them more clarity.
Everything from creating content to organizing personalized coaching sessions to exploring freelance opportunities in this field was on the table.
Today’s article is a transcript of our conversation. If you’re just getting started in the field of content writing and personal branding, you can benefit from Abinaya’s expertise by reading this article, “A freelancer in this domain.” Here’s what we’ll be covering in this article:

In Conversation With Abinaya: A Coach and Content Curator
Que- Hi Abinaya, Please tell me a bit about yourself and your life, such as how you got into the great field of content writing and personal branding. What experience do you have as a content writer?
I have nearly two years of experience in the fields of personalized coaching and content writing. And the journey was initially a wonderland for me because I am from a science background. I have done biotechnology, and later I found this world of content, coaching, and personal branding.
Que: What aspects of writing content do you find to be the most satisfying?
Writing content is a very rewarding experience for me. I find it especially satisfying to do research on a topic, turn it into an interesting article, and then see how it can help people who read it.
To me, the greatest benefit of sharing insightful digital content, like on LinkedIn, is the opportunity to motivate others while also developing one’s own community of like-minded individuals who are always happy to have you around. And if you’re into personal branding, then YouTube, Instagram, blogging, and, of course, LinkedIn are all platforms that can provide you with gigs to grow and learn at the same time.
Que: How do you keep up with the latest changes in the content writing industry?
To stay informed of the latest changes in the content writing industry, I make it a point to attend conferences and seminars related to the field, as well as read up on industry-specific blogs and websites. In order to achieve a high Google page rank, professional content writers must keep up with the latest changes in their field. Google Trends is a reliable tool for keeping up with the times. One needs to be active on multiple social media sites.
Que: How do you plan to make your content more interesting?
I plan to do a lot of research on relevant topics, use active language and story-telling techniques, and add multimedia elements to make my content more interesting. Include images and a catchy introduction to increase pageviews and engagement with your post. I work hard to ensure that everything I write is easy to understand and replete with moral substance. Never leave your readers hanging at the end of your post without a call to action (CTA).
Que: Exactly how do you juggle content production for different mediums?
Producing content for different mediums can be a challenging task. My week is well-planned thanks to my efforts. I focus solely on the tasks at hand and do not attempt to juggle too many balls at once. For example, I might spend my mornings writing blog posts and my afternoons and evenings meeting with people one-on-one.
Que: What is the difference between content writing and personal branding?
Most of the time, content writing involves writing pieces that are meant to be informative or educational. Personal branding, on the other hand, is a way to introduce yourself to your audience while explaining services, ideas, or just sharing your own experiences. Personal branding is about building an image or reputation by showing off a person’s skills and achievements, while content writing is usually about businesses, products, services, and industries.
Que: How can you make sure your content is exactly what your readers want to read?
To ensure your content is what readers want to read, it is important to understand who your audience is and the topics they are most interested in. Knowing your audience, finding out what they want (through polls or questions), and communicating with them are essential steps in creating content that will resonate with them. You need to be aware of the expectations of your target market.
Que: The most beneficial aspects of content creation and personal branding are:
Content creation and building a strong personal brand can be very helpful for anyone who wants to get noticed and build a strong network. Though both look different with their names, together they create a situation like “ice on the cake.” Not only can they help an individual reach their personal goals, but they can also be an excellent way to build a strong online presence and create a lasting impression on potential employers.
Que: How do you overcome a block when writing?
Well, overcoming a block when writing can be difficult, but there are some strategies that can be helpful. You can’t always keep yourself going. Taking short breaks is a great way to keep yourself going. Taking short breaks throughout your writing session can help to clear your mind and focus on the task at hand.
Que: Would you mind sharing some advice with those who are just starting out as content writers?
Absolutely! For those just starting out, my best advice is to find something you are passionate about and focus on creating high-quality content that is engaging and relevant. Persistence and refusal to give up are the sole means to success. It takes time to build an empire. Don’t rush your work. Relish the ride; you’ll soon arrive at your destination. We often believe that success is a straight line from point A to point B, but in reality, it is more like a winding road full of obstacles and unexpected curves.
